Most people think our world is millions or even billions years old but according to the Bible it dates the world to be around 6,000 years old. We definitely believe the Bible, below are some reasons why.
Our current world population is a little over 8 Billion people. According to the Bible, the earth is 6,000 years old. Approximately 1,500 years have passed before the flood which leaves us with 4,500 years to current. Noah's Ark contained (8) people which survived the flood. Let's be conservative and say our population has doubled every 150 years since the flood. So double (8) people 30 times and see what the population would be. Here's the math:
150 years divided by 4,500 =30
(8) on Noah's ark that survived the flood
So (8) X 2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2
=== 8,589,934,592 people
compared to our current population of :
8,045,311,447 (according to UN estimates)
This data definitely supports a "young earth."
Everyone takes Carbon data as accurate for dating the earth. They try to date things by the rate of decay (reduction of C14), but you must have a starting amount to accurately predict the decay rate. Since we don't have that data (we weren't there In the Beginning to observe/record the starting amounts) how can someone date something billions of years old? We simply can't take scientists at their word when their methodology is severely flawed.
All radiometric dating methods are based on assumptions about events that happened in the past. If the assumptions are accepted as true (as is typically done in the evolutionary dating processes), results can be biased toward a desired age. In the reported ages given in textbooks and other journals, these evolutionary assumptions have not been questioned while results inconsistent with long ages have been censored. When the assumptions were evaluated and shown faulty, the results supported the biblical account of a global Flood and young earth. Christians should not be afraid of radiometric dating methods. Carbon-14 dating is really the friend of Christians, and it supports a young earth.
The Bible teaches that there was no animal or human death before the Fall of Adam and Eve. So the geological record of rock layers and fossils could not have been millions of years before the Fall. The global catastrophic Flood of Noah was responsible for producing most (but not all) of the geological record of rock layers and fossils. Both a casual reading and careful exegesis show that this was not a local flood in Mesopotamia. It is most unreasonable to believe in a global, year-long Flood that left no geological evidence (or that it only left evidence in the low lands of the Fertile Crescent, as some suppose). The global evidence of sedimentary rock layers filled with land and marine fossils is exactly the kind of evidence we would expect from Noah’s Flood. If most of the rock record is the evidence of the Flood, then there really is no geological evidence for millions of years. But the secular geologists deny the global Flood of Noah’s day because they deny that there is any geological evidence for such a flood. So, the fossiliferous rock record is either the evidence of Noah’s Flood or the evidence of millions of years of geological change. It cannot be evidence of both. If we do not accept the geological establishment’s view of Noah’s Flood, then we cannot accept their view of the age of the earth. So, it is logically inconsistent to believe in both a global Noachian Flood and millions of years.
The genealogies of Genesis 5 and 11 give us the years from Adam to Abraham, who virtually all scholars agree lived about 2000 BC. This sets the date of creation at approximately 6,000 years ago.
